There are various surgical methods. The first is fistulotomy and curettage. Average recovery time is 1-1.5 months. The second is the method we call sinus excision and marsupialization. The third is sinus excision and primary closure. Recovery time is usually 2 weeks. The recurrence rate is between 16-22%. The last method is the flap method. Recovery time is 2 weeks.
